Multiplayer
Infomation on the multiplayer aspect is at last emerging with various details and videos from a playable version at the lepsig games convention.
Info
- Four game modes: Tactical Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Tactical Capture the Flag and a new mode called Power Struggle.
- Six to Eight multiplayer maps at launch.
- The longer you use a weapon or tool the better you become at using it.
- Trees can be shot down and vechicles get damaged in a similar way to the single player version.
Power Struggle Mode
- Each side starts from a near impregnable HQ, an offshore submarine or inland base armed with automated missiles and turrets.
- Each player sets off with only a pistol and a very rudimentary form of exo-armour.
- Everything else costs credits and most every meaningful act earns 'em.
- Killing a more powerful player gives you more credits than killing a weaker one.
- Players who are better or have been playing longer have a higer rank.
- Vechicles can be bought with credits and they then belong to you.
- Your amour can also be upgraded untill it eventually has ablities like cloaking but this may cost as many credits as a tank.
- Factories, bases and airfields which can be captured by standing in a specific room inside each one for a predetermined amount of time. Controling these enables you to build certain things.
Alien Cores
- On each map there'll be one to five randomised alien crash sites
- You take a tool from your base called the stabiliser to recover the core.
- You must then get it to a strategic building, this is made harder by the fact that everyone on the map can see where the core is once you have recovered it, so the teams will be locked in a tense battle.
- If you bring an alien core back to a strategic building, say a heavy vehicle factory, you can produce tanks which have alien weapons. i.e. A freeze or cloak tank.
Vechicles
- Limited number of each vechicle.
- They can be transfered to other people who you chose.
- Others can steal the vechicles you own if you do not lock them, people can also try to break in.
- Air borne vechiles must land to refuel and pick up bombs.
These vechicles include:
- Submarines
- Ships
- Hovercrafts
- Patrol Boats
- Inflatable Zodiacs
- Whalers
- Trucks
- Tanks
- Mobile AA units
- Armored Personal carriers
- Jeeps
- Attack helicopters
- VTOL Jets
