Perimeter Units
Basic Units
These are the units you use to create other more powerful units. They have some characteristics of their own which are described below.
Basic Soldier
These have a weak assault rifle attack which is almost useless.
Basic Officer
Can produce suppressing fire on enemy units this has little effect.
Basic Technician
Have useful healing powers to return other units to full strength. It is worth keeping a squad of about 30 of these during later levels to heal other units.
Gun Units
Sniper
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Laser Laboratory
Units: 3 Officers
Useful all round unit. Can destroy enemy units, brigadiers, buildmasters and scourge. Can also slow building by destroying energy between the buildmaster and building.
Strafer
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Antigrav Laboratory
Units: 5 Soliders, 4 Officers
A powerful flying unit, can attack scourge and opposition units. Can fly over water without being destroyed.
Gyroid
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Antigrav Laboratory, Level 2: Laser Laboratory
Units: 4 Officers
Similar to the sniper but flying and with greater defences. If you have the right buildings it is worth converting your snipers to these.
Leamo
Buildings Needed: Level 3: Laser Laboratory
Units: 1 Solider, 12 Officers, 7 technicians
Surprisingly powerful unit, these can destroy buildings in a matter of seconds with their powerful lasers.
Subterra Units
Digger
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Subterra Laboratory
Units: 2 Officers, 2 technicians
Can damage ground but cannot be directed to attack specific buildings. Is inefficient against buildings.
Scummer
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Subterra Laboratory, Level 2: Laser Laboratory
Units: 7 Officers, 3 technicians
Useful underground units, can destroy to smaller buildings but will take some time to destroy other buildings. Good for stopping an enemy frame charging by destroying the ground beneath it.
Rocket Units
Rocker
R-Projector
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Rocket Laboratory, Level 2: Laser Laboratory
Units: 6 Soliders, 3 technicians
Can attack almost anything. Quick way to destroy enemy units and can attack buildings.
Ceptor
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Antigravity Laboratory, Level 2: Rocket Laboratory
Units: 6 Soliders, 4 Officers
Flying version of the R-Projector with slightly weaker attack.
Extirpator
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Subterra Laboratory, Level 2: Laser Laboratory, Level 3: Rocket Laboratory
Units: 7 Soliders, 6 Officers, 7 technicians
Very unusual unit, produces underground target seeking missiles. These will seek out their target and produce a large hole in the ground beneath it. Energy cores will then be instantly destroyed while most other buildings will be severely damaged. Along with a team of healing technicians these can be decisive in many levels.
Bomb units
Mortar
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Bomb Laboratory
Units: 4 technicians
Reasonable attack against buildings and the only way to destroy buildings at the start of a level.
Wargon Tank
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Bomb Laboratory, Level 2: Rocket Laboratory
Units: 2 Soliders, 8 technicians
Powerful bombing attack, a group of around five of these can do a surprising amount of damage.
Bombie
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Bomb Laboratory, Level 2: Antigravity Laboratory
Units: 2 Soliders, 6 Officers, 12 technicians
Also has a powerful attack but must be above the place it is attacking. This makes it more vulnerable to attack than the other bombing units but enables it to attack units out of reach of the other bombers.
Empire Units
Leech
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Empire Laboratory
Units: 12 technicians
These units are very powerful against outlying energy cores. They will take all the enemies energy and prevent them attacking you.
Unseen
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Empire Laboratory, Level 2: Laser Laboratory
Units: 9 Soliders, 18 technicians
These make your other units near it invisible and can take a large amount of damage so your other squads can attack without losing any health.
Disintegrator
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Empire Laboratory, Level 2: Antigravity Laboratory
Units: 12 Officers, 15 technicians
Will convert near by enemy units into basic units.
Piercer
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Subterra Laboratory, Level 3: Empire Laboratory
Units: 3 Soliders, 21 Officers, 39 technicians
Very powerful underground unit, destroys a large line of land and is destroyed after its attack. If aimed well it can devastate the oppositions territory.
Exodus Units
Scum Splitter
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Exodus Laboratory
Units: 12 technicians
Powerful unit which will crack the ground near where it is targeted doing a lot of damage to not only the unit it is aimed at but also those near by. It must charge between attacks making it vulnerable.
Scum Twister
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Bomb Laboratory, Level 2: Exodus Laboratory
Units: 6 Soliders, 21 technicians
Creates a small tornado which will attack units and buildings. Must also be charged.
Scum Heater
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Exodus Laboratory, Level 2: Antigrav Laboratory, Level 3: Laser Laboratory
Units: 21 Officers, 12 technicians
Flying unit which boils the ground underneath it. Powerful but unnecessary.
Scum Thrower
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Bomb Laboratory, Level 3: Exodus Laboratory
Units: 3 Soliders, 18 Officers, 39 technicians
Throws scum at enemy buildings, this will cause damage to them. This unit can take a lot of damage before being destroyed so is very useful.
Harkbackhood Units
Spider
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Harkbackhood Laboratory
Units: 12 technicians
Relatively weak attack against the enemies base so is unlikely to destroy buildings.
Shark
Buildings Needed: Level 1: Antigrav Laboratory, Level 2: Harkbackhood Laboratory
Units: 9 Officers, 15 technicians
More powerful than the spider but still not that effective.
Demon
Buildings Needed: Level 2: Antigrav Laboratory, Level 2: Harkbackhood Laboratory
Units: 12 Officers, 15 technicians
These units will head for the building you direct them to and overwhelm it, swiftly destroying it.
