Enemies in Tomb Raider 3

There is a description of every enemy in Tomb Raider 3. There are also some screenshots, click on the screenshot for a larger version, they will open in a new window.

Monkeys

enemy

First appear in the Jungle where they do not attack you and so are not a threat. From Temple Ruins onwards they become more aggressive but are still easy to kill and do very little damage when they do get to you. The last you see of them is in The River Ganges.

Tigers

enemy

The tigers are fast and dangerous. If they can't get to you they will run away and attack again later. They first appear in the Jungle and continue to appear until the end of Temple Ruins.

Snakes

enemy

Next you meet Cobras. They rear up from behind bushes and attack. If they get you, you will be poisoned and your life bar will flash yellow and you will continue to take damage until you cure yourself with a medi pack. They appear in Temple Ruins and continue to appear until the end of Caves Of Kaliya. Rattle Snakes appear in Nevada Desert.

Piranhas

enemy

You can't target these fish. They are very hazardous and you will lose life very quickly from contact with them. If piranhas are about try to stay out of the water. They first appear in Temple Ruins and continue to appear until the end of The River Ganges.

Six Armed Statues

These statues appear in Temple Ruins. They are very slow but when they have their swords crossed they are invincible. When they have their swords crossed put your guns down and run around a bit to get them to get their guard down.

Birds

enemy

They circle around and attack you from behind. They appear in the River Ganges, Nevada Desert and Thames Warf.

Tony

enemy

This is the insane man you saw at the end of the Jungle and Temple Ruins. You fight him at the end of Caves of Kayla. Just move to the edge of the platform and side flip to avoid his fire balls.

Undercover Cops

enemy

These guys pop up all over Nevada Desert. They don't have any weapons and try to beat you up with their hands.

Military Police (with batons)

They are very aggressive and will whack you with their batons as you won't have any weapons get you fellow prisoners to attack them. They appear in High Security Compound and Area 51.

Prisoners

enemy

These are your allies and will attack the military police for you. Do not hurt them. They appear in High Security Compound and Area 51.

Military Police (with guns)

enemy

Similar to the baton carrying military police but armed with guns. They are quite easy to kill once you have your guns back. They appear in High Security Compound and Area 51.

Military Dogs

These aggressive dogs will try to get around behind you to attack. They appear in High Security Compound.

Military Police (with laser-targeting)

enemy

Have laser targeting and so have good aim at long distance. When they are dieing they will let off a few well aimed shots so don't stop moving until after they stop moving. They appear in Area 51.

Crocodiles

enemy

These animals take quite a long time to kill. Their bites will do you a lot of damage if you are in the water with them. They appear in Costal Village and Madubu Gorge.

Dart Shooting Natives

These unfriendly natives shoot poisoned darts at you. They do not have very good aim. If you get too close to them they will hit you with their dart shooters. They appear in Coastal village and Temple of Puna.

Natives with Spiked Clubs

enemy

These natives carry spiked clubs which do not do much damage. If you have room to move about it is easy to kill them. They appear in Costal Village.

Raptors

enemy

These dinosaurs take quite a long time to kill. They are slow and very vicious and will attack each other. The appear in The Crash Site.

Green Dinosaurs

enemy

These small Green Dinosaurs are easy to kill with pistols and do not do Lara much damage. They appear in Crash Site.

Men Guarding Fallen Plane

These men will not hurt you if you do not shoot at them and will often help you take down Raptors. They appear in Crash Site.

T-Rex

enemy

One of these fierce dinosaurs can be found in the Crash Site. It can kill you with one bite. It takes a lot of ammo to kill and is stronger than those in the first 2 games. The deep water is safe.

Lizard Men

enemy

These beasts have poisonous breath. Keep away from them and Lara will not be poisoned. They die quite quickly. They appear in Madubu Gorge and Temple of Puna.

Puna

enemy

Appears at the end of Temple of Puna. He shoots blue and green bolts. The blue bolts are deadly and green bolt create lizard men. Side flip to avoid the bolts.

Guards (with Laser Targeting)

enemy

Similar to the military police with laser targeting. Keep moving to stop them targeting you. They appear in Thames Warf.

Rats

enemy

These beasts are quite large but die quickly. They appear in Thames Warf.

Guards (with guns)

enemy

They are like the gun carrying military police. They don't have very good aim. They appear in Thames Warf.

Gang Members

enemy

These men carry flaming clubs. They often hide in alcoves. Keep out of their reach and you can easily kill them. They appear in Aldwitch Station and Lud's Gate where they will not attack you.

Gang Dogs

enemy

These mangy dogs will attack you viscously from behind. They go down quite quickly. They appear in Aldwitch Station.

Scuba Divers

enemy

These swimmers appear in Lud's Gate. They shoot harpoons at you which can be avoided by swimming in a zigzag pattern. These harpoons can do a lot of damage if they hit you but the divers are not very fast swimmers.

Sophia Leigh

enemy

She appears in the city level and shoots bolts at you. You can't kill her with guns but you have to electrocute her. Near the top of the tower is a circuit box to shoot out.

RX-Tech Guards

enemy

These red-jacketed guards appear in Antarctica. They are similar to other guards. Be wary of the shot they let off just as they die.

Huskies

enemy

These vicious dogs appear in Antarctica and like the other dogs you have met will try to attack you from behind.

Mutant Near to Death

This mutant breaths poison before collapsing. He appears in Antarctica.

Men in White armed with flame throwers

enemy

These men will not attack you unless you shoot them. They will kill any mutants who come near. The ones you meet in Meteorite Cavern after killing Willard are not so friendly. They appear in RX-Tech Mines and Meteorite Cavern.

Legless Mutants

enemy

These mutants take a lot of ammo to kill and move faster then you would expect for an animal without legs. They breath poison but it is easy to avoid. Be careful as they die they spray out a lot of poisonous breath. They appear in RX-Tech Mines.

Clawed Mutants

enemy

These mutants move faster than the legless ones and have a claw but don't breath poison. They appear in RX-Tech Mines.

Giant Wasps

enemy

These wasps appear out of cracks in the wall. They fly slowly towards you and then start to attack. They will be no trouble if you can move around easily. They appear in Lost City of Tinnos.

Fireball throwing Mutants

enemy

These powerful mutants can attack you with their claws or throw fireballs at you. They take a very long time to kill. If you are out of their reach then try side flipping to avoid the fireballs. They appear in Lost City of Tinnos.

Dr Willard

enemy

Willard your former employer has turned into a spider like mutant. You meet him at the beginning of Meteorite Cavern. He is faster than Lara and can do a lot of damage if he catches up with you. If you got outside the white circle he will shoot a fatal blast at you. You cannot kill him while the meteor is up. You must stun him and then sprint out to get an artefact and then sprint back until you have all four. Use your best weapons to kill him.

Men in White armed with guns

enemy

When you climb out of the cavern you will meet a few of these. The have bad aim just shoot them until they die. They appear in Meteorite Cavern.

Note: In the bonus level you will meet a guard with a gun (similar to the ones in the London levels) and his dog.
