Getting started
At the beginning I found it nearly impossible to make money in this game, here are some tips to increase your income and hopefully keep people happy:
- Start with a medium casino unless the mission says otherwise, it gives you enough space to build without being massive.
- Put a pit supervisors office in your casino and build all the gambling places you can.
- Place the noisy things together, this means having the tables away from the rest.
- Go into the settings for every table etc and change the bet range, $10-$20 seems good for the slot machines while $50-$250 is good for some tables. If you have more than 2 of any object have differing bet ranges to cater for all tastes and incomes.
- For the car slots the sports car seems to be best.
- Make sure the services (cleaners, toilets etc) are on a different level to the main casino, this will make the area of smell smaller and costs only as much as a flight of stairs.
- Cover much of the casino floor with some sort of beauty boosting object, lights or statues are effective, use the beauty filter to check your coverage.
- People like to sit down, make sure you have lots of benches, in pleasnt places if posssible.
- Rubbish is a problem, people will drop lots, place bins in sensible places, but don't forget that they are smelly. some people will just drop their litter on the floor, make sure you have a cleaners closet in your casino, hiring more cleaners is often necessary.
- It is essential to have a casiers desk in your casino to empty slot machines, mechanics are also usefull.
- Signs can bring in more people but are expensive, if you have enough people its usually unnecessary.
- Hotels almost always make a proft, be sure to have one on your lot, it is easy to start small and then build more once the first is full.
- Make sure you have an electrican and mechanic on every lot, larger lots may need more than one.
- Keep the services including toilets in a secluded corner of your lot, preferably blocked off with palm trees as they do smell which people don't like.
- Keep noisy/smelly activities together and place nice things near by to counteract the effect.
- Make sure people can do every activity on your lot, ie at least one place to shop, one place to gamble, a place to rest (bench), a place to sleep etc. If you aren't sure which you have look under filters.
